Choice 1940 or 1950s red head duck decoy that we believe was carved by Madison Mitchell. Has original paint, boat shaped body with elongated tail, articulated and carved long beak, painted eyes. Excellent condition.

THIS IS A VERY WELL CARVED HEN CANVASBACK DECOY FROM THE UPPER CHESAPEAKE BAY OF MARYLAND – POSSIBLY THE CRISFIELD OR CAMBRIDGE AREA OF THE EASTERN SHORE. IT APPEARS TO HAVE MOSTLY ORIGINAL PAINT ALTHOUGH THE BLACK AREA OF THE CHEST MAY BE STRENGTHENED.
