This Mid 20thC, 1940’s Vintage painted canvas over wire Canadian Goose Decoy is a unique piece of sporting history from Currituck County North Carolina. This goose was from a local collection and was attributed to a stand of geese decoys owned by Frank Carter out of Currituck though it may not have been made by Carter himself. Carter sold decoys and hunted over numerous local birds, most notably Ned Burgess. Easily identifiable as an Outer Banks style Canvas over Wire Goose and located in Kill Devil Hills some years back. Overall Solid with use wear to the finish consistent with age. Great older painted finish. Slightly depressed wire cage. Easily dating to the middle of the 20th century. Unmarked. Overall approx size: 21″ inches across by 10″ inches tall.
