BILL COOPER WAS BORN IN STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY, ENGLAND IN 1886. ST-ONGE AND BELISLE DESCRIBE IT AS “THE MUNICIPALITY WHERE THE LACHINE RAPIDS AND NUN’S ISLAND, A HUNTER’S PARADISE, THAT THE ART AND TRADITION OF QUEBEC CARVERS STARTED IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE 20TH CENTURY.

This duck decoy was carved by Percy Gerald Bicknell (1935-2010) in 1992, signed and dated P.G. Bicknell on the bottom. He is the son of well known decoy artist Percy Bicknell (1897-1959). It was carved in a way so the surface has many flat faces instead of being sanded smooth.
