Up for sale is a pair of Mallard decoys by Horace Graham, 1893-1981 of Charlestown, Maryland in Cecil county. Original paint, structurally in good condition with some wear and paint rubs, It also measures from bill to tail 18.5″ long by 6.5″ wide. The drake is made in an alert/swimming position. The decoys are stored in a smoke free home. You are bidding on a vintage Phil Kemp (1898-1973) hand carved wooden miniature canvasback Decoy. Phil Kemp is a legendary decoy Carver from Kent Island Maryland. His work is featured in the November/December 2020 issue of Decoy magazine. He is also featured in the Forgotten Seven Decoy Carvers of Kent island book. Phil Kemp’s Decoys are very hard to find. He is from Stevensville, Md on the Chesapeake Bay. Phil made full size and miniature decoys. He is known for his folky style.
Antique HandCarved Mallard Duck Decoy W/Iron Weight, Swivel Dowel Head-Very Good
This is an estate piece, handcarved antique Drake Mallard with glass eyes, and the cast iron ballast on bottom, attached with non machined hardware. Beautiful piece, it incorporates a seperate head that attaches with a dowel rod very securely, but allows the head to swivel. Original paint is very good for age, with only minimal wear. No discernable cracks, chips, gouges, etc. Please see pics for further description and condition.
