: ANTIQUE WORKING CARVED SOLID BODY BLUE BILL DUCK DECOY THIS IS A GREAT ORIGINAL DUCK DECOY. I BELIEVE IT IS A BLUE BILL BUT IT IS HARD TO DEFINITELY SAY SO WITH THE PATINA OVER THE ORIGINAL PAINT. REALLY JUST A WONDERFUL FORMED BODY. A SINGLE PIECE OF WOOD WITH JUST AN ATTACHED HEAD THAT MEASURES 10 X 6 X 7 1/2 INCHES TALL. WONDERFUL ORIGINAL CARVING MARKINGS ALL OVER THE BIRD AND ORIGINAL SIMPLE BLACK AND WHITE PAINT. BOTTOM SHOWS AN OLD SPLIT AND 4 ORIGINAL HOLES OF WHERE THE SLAB METAL WEIGHT WAS ATTACHED. IT HAD BEEN MOVED TO THE CENTER OF THE SPLIT LONG AGO AND USED AFTER THE CHANGE. REALLY JUST A WONDERFUL ORIGINAL DECOY. I WOULD SAY IT DATES TO THE 1930s-1950s. A unique duck decoy, from The Painted Bird Carved Bird Decoys, by Richard Morgan. This is hand carved and painted, with a unique finish to resemble vintage decoys. Please note the cracked/chipped paint on one side of the neck. If placed for display, this could be in the back. The tag is attached, which notes this as a male Mallard duck. Body in gray and brown, with white and navy blue stripes, with a green head, yellow beak, and black eyes. Stamped on the bottom with and RAM 90 ( (not sure if this is 1990? Also possibly it says 80.). Weighs about 17 ounces. This was on display for some time, otherwise in storage. Please see measurements below. This decoy is in good condition, chipped paint as shown.
